If Thomas is traded for nothing but 2022 picks he goes from an 18.8 million cap number to a 23 million cap number. If 2021 draft picks or players come back add that to the 23 million.
When you're going into the off-season 100 million over the cap with decent players as free agents there is little room to trade Thomas unless the plan is to blow it up for the next few seasons.

Yeah! Worked great with Taysom Hill when Saints tried to tender him so some idiot would trade those picks to us.

Im 100% against a Thomas trade. Im just trying to hear the logic in why the Texans would take on the deal when they just traded their star for nothing.
