If Brees wins another ring, will he be part of GOAT discussion?

May hold every passing record known to man, will have the wins, 2 rings, and the fact that he did it with zero Hall of Fame targets and no defense.

Rodgers won his ring playing OK with a #1 defense.

Brady has never won a SB without a defense ranked 8th or better. They've finished outside the top 10 in scoring defense 3 times in his career (17th, 17th, 15th), and what do you know? He threw more INT's than he usually does those years and they won fewer games. And Brees would kill for a 17th ranked defense and won a superbowl with worse.

Meanwhile Brees has led the Saints to the playoffs every year (and won a playoff game in every year but one) every time the Saints D finished 18th or better.

Brady has 11 top 10 defenses and 5 top 5 defenses

Brees has 2 top 10 defenses and 1 top 5 defense

Brady has zero defenses ranked worse than 17th in the NFL.

Brees has 8 defenses ranked worse than 25th.

This isn't a knock on Brady. As I think it's hard to compare QB's when they are so good. But our boy Drew doesn't get the respect he deserves! Some think that Dan Marino is the best to ever play. If Brees wins another, he's Dan Marino with 2 rings.

The discussion would be there. but for QBs championships are the end all be all.

Brady and Montana are always going to top the list.

Brees could get close to P Manning if he wins another one and then that would be the top 4.

Bradshaw won 4 titles but never was thought of as a great QB.

Umm...Dan Marino

If Brees wins another championship that puts him even with Manning and Elway and ahead of Rodgers (for now) and Favre. I think a strong argument could be made for him especially if he holds all of the QB records.

As far the OP saying he had no hall of famers I would argue that Evans could potentially end up in Canton. He's been in the league over decade now and was an elite guard for most of that time. Darren Sharper would have been a lock had he not been a serial rapist. Not sure how Jimmy Graham's career is going to turn out but he was on that trajectory when he was here. Just my opinion but an argument could be made for Colston. He's in the top 50 in reception, yards, and touchdowns and is ahead of a few other current hall of famers. Slim chance but you never know.

Brady is the GOAT. It was decided during Bountygate.

Yes Jahri could definitely make it and Sharper would indeed be a lock. Zero hall of fame targets though pending Michael Thomas' induction in 20 years

That's almost comical to think of Brees on the same level as Brady.

You have got to be kidding me. If I have to explain it to you then you should probably stop watching football.

Can't coach clutch. He's probably the most clutch QB in NFL history and the previous SB only solidified that argument that has been going around for years.

Brees is great but he's just not there. You could argue Brady is on a tier all by himself and you might even have an argument he might be one of the most clutch players in any sport today.

Brees use to be clutch but I don't know what happened there. Maybe father time caught up with him or he's too busy worrying about his fantasy numbers to care. For all the great numbers he puts up they sure do seem meaningless in everything except fantasy football these days. Yeah, Bill is the best in the business but they still wouldn't be where they're at without Brady. Do you think the same could be said for Payton and Brees? Not like Brees was lighting the world on fire before he came to NO although he was a solid QB. All you have to go on is what you see not should've could've would've. You can say Montana's league had much better defenses because the league was harder to throw then. In the end, who has all the rings and has plenty of clutch playoff moments to back them up? Some of you act like defense is the only reason Brady ever wins games.
