Because it’s the largest possible sample size you can have with him. You’re trying to make an indictment on 1 season, I’m using 5. My method is superior. It’s basic math.
Even if you want to shite on him for this season, it’s flawed. He still had a very good season and add in the context of the mess on offense around him, it was a great season.

Rbs decline at a rapid rate. It happens to many of them. So his production from 5 years ago should not be of relevance in how people view him as a player today. I dont see the same player that he once was who even then I thought was overated. No, he didnt play in the best situation possible this season with the oline/qb situstion but I dont really look at that when determining what I think of a player.

According to NFL Advanced Rushing for 2021, Alvin Kamara was fifth in the NFL in breaking tackles with 22, and he played in fewer games than any of the running backs ahead of him. For rushing attempts, Kamara also averaged only 2.3 yards before encountering contact, where as Deebo Samuel averaged 3.1; therefore, Deebo averaged nearly a full yard before contact than Kamara, which may indicate a difference in the push of the two offensive lines or a difference between straight rushes and end-arounds/misdirection handoffs. Certainly, the loss of OT Terron Armstead and OT Ryan Ramczyk did not help Kamara's numbers this season, not to mention absences of starters OC McCoy and OG Pete.

Only problem with Alvin is he's starting to put some mileage on and get up in age for an RB. Hopefully we can make a run in the next 3-4 years before he hits that classic RB wall.

Like i said earlier, the line was garbage this year.
Kamara will be fine.

actually like Kamara and dont have any issues. My issue is with people on this board thinking hes an elite player
We obviously aren’t going to agree on Kamara. One honest, non-trolling question though - if not Kamara, is there an offensive skill player in saints history you think was elite?
