Special team guy

I could see him being good in this role. Punt and kick coverage, where he just has to go make a play and not think. Maybe down lineman on punt return also.

Saban may have turned him into an effective running back on our 9th title team.

He's an extremely undersized edge (his coverage skills are far too subpar to play ILB in the nfl). Even if he could effectively put on 20 lbs. and not lose a step, that's still at the bottom end of the size we'd need, and I don't see him adding that much weight and not losing a step with his frame.

Tweener. Really no position in the NFL.

Proctor from southeastern got drafted before Perkins did.

Let that sink in.

I would really be interested to see some team try and work Perk as a project RB. I know that sounds nuts and it won't happen, but I'd be really curious to see it. The way he moves, his acceleration and agility screams offense to me.

Perkins biggest asset was his speed! He could run down running QBs and RBs when he felt like doing it and the speed allowed him to run by OTs to get sacks, but everything else he was terrible at.
