And he was out when we played the Rams.

This team is friggin scary and somehow only getting better and more efficient on BOTH sides of the ball each and every game.

Somehow I forget that. Unreal how good our D could be when he comes back.

I hope we get a beautiful turkey day present from the saints with a 30 point victory over the failcons.

Davenport can prolly play (broken toe and all)
think they're saving him which is smart considering Rankins is blowing the Trenches.

Was talking about this during the game to some friends. Hendrickson and Okafor have been playing well but Davenport is a freak who can really get after the QB. With the emergence of an interior pass rush I really look for this defense to hit it's stride closing out the year with Davenport back in rotation.

He showed up on the practice report as limited which means he's pretty close. My guess is they keep him out this week and then let him roll the following Thursday.

Which makes me wonder if they're going to go to a five-man defensive front with 2 over and 4 defensive backs at the 3rd level.

Normally you wouldn't want to do this because you can get gashed in the run game without having enough linebackers at the second level but with the Saints getting up so fast over their opponents early in the game, it's forcing teams to pass on almost all their downs to try to keep up. It's part of the reason why the Saints defense ranks number 1 against the rush.

With a 5-man front it creates more time with one-on-one matchups against the OL and prevents double teams. Could you imagine, Onyemata, Rankins, Jordan, Okafor and Davenport all with one-on-one matchup with Hendrickson and Davison in relief!? Then on 3rd and long you can also bring Anzalone on a blitz. It's basically an inst-a-sack.
