I met him in 2008 before the Vikings Monday night game.
He said that Bobby Hebert called him personally back in 2006 when he took over the radio show. Said he wanted Abdullah as part of the show.
He agreed to it but I think he said that he was hanging up his Keffiyeh after that season.
