you can't compare sitting in the upper end zone to a high def, on the line of scrimmage with a crystal clear pic of every play ...
good reason to DVR game and watch it when you get home....best of both worlds.
When I have a strong rooting interest in the game, I don't like the unknown of the play as it develops watching it on TV. From upper level end zone, you know before it happens whether or not the play has a chance. I really enjoy that.

I agree with you. The option of being able to see the whole field at all times will always trump any advantage a TV will have, in viewing a football game.
Given all the other crap involved, though, I still was unable to justify pulling the trigger on tickets to this one.
I just never agree that TV is a better viewing experience for football. Always comes across as a grumpy 65 year old man line to me, to boot.

That's a bit of a different point, though, because they're ususally looking at and for one or maybe just a few different things, for all they are there focusing on. Without so much, if any, concern over the outcome of the game as a whole.
You simply can't get that replicated on TV. At least not yet (still holding out for networks/the NFL to introduce the option of being able to choose whatever camera angle you want, whenever you want).

oh, no doubt. Just a clear example of how different it is watching a game in person vs on tv.

this has to be coming at some point, right?

No doubt, there are advantages to being in the stadium, and if the game were here I would make a different choice. But it's hard to deny that television gives you views of certain things you can't see in the stadium, even with instant replay.
Actually, my argument would be that the NFL works on television, but the NBA works better in person. But I guess that's another discussion.

it is just two totally different perspectives .. on television you are constantly watching the game on the ball at all times .. and there are little things that you see on TV, that you are not going to see with you back at the top of the superdome in an endzone ... but, on TV, when drew brees his henderson for 75 yard TD pass and no one is around him .. at the game .. you can see the ankle breaking double move he made or the fact that the corner slipped and had no over the top help .. of course, the five different angles you get on television minutes later would show you that ...
at the end of the day, though .. i just prefer to be at the game if at all possible ..

The trip to Miami is costing me 1,000. I paid for my ticket, used FF for my plane ride, staying at Crown Plaza for $90/night in West Palm and have a rental car for $15/day.
Granted, I really have no desire to seek out the Miami club scene. Part of me wishes I was in NOLA for the game, but this history. I will find the Saints fans after the game.
I don't care where you watch the game, just yell your damn head off!! Who Dat!

you would be very very lucky to find one at face value on the internet ... stub hub, ebay, other ticket sites, etc. .. charges the seller around 15 to 20% .. so they are going to jack their price up to cover that .. so anyone that would sell at face value would still list at $1,000 to cover their expenses ...

I contend you don't have to be that closely "connected".
If you happen to know somebody, who knows somebody, who knows somebody, there's a good chance you could get this about now.
Ask around all available channels you may have, is all the advice I'm going to give.

So maybe this thread title is slightly misleading?

Oh another thing. As far as actually seeing the game itself, television is better.
If you attended the Vikings game, I think you would never say this in a million years.

As I said, all I know is, I've gotten three such offers this week, and I hardly consider myself "connected." I can only extrapolate that, and assume there are plenty more such offers floating around out there (with potentially more to come).
If one's not falling into your lap, ask around. If you're antsy about such prospects and really really really want to see the game, do whatever you need to do, I guess.
This wasn't meant as anything beyond friendly advice.

All I know is that twenty years from now, when someone claims that they were at the Super Bowl when the Saints won in 2010, I'll be able to say it and it will be a true statement.
Even though the atmosphere after the game may be better on Bourbon, it will not outweigh the fun I had before, during, and after watching the Saints win in person. If it were not a 42 year wait for our 1st Super Bowl victory (most of them miserable), it would be different.
