We need playmakers. It goes against everything I believe in the modern era, but I am not 100% opposed to taking a gamechanging RB early-ish
This. I don’t really care if the WR they take is big or fast. I want him to be good. Amon Ra isn’t particular fast or big but he’s dynamic. I could care less if Makai Lemon (if the Saints take him) is big or fast (he’s not big but has decent speed) I care about if he’s a dude. A playmaker.
Thinking WRs in terms of speed or size just seems like such antiquated thinking. Sure those traits can be attractive but WR, almost as much as Safety, seems like it has a higher hit rate in the later rounds as the early ones. Can play the position and make an impact in a lot of different ways

don't think it's really either. IMO we need a WR that can get YAC and can win the majority of contested catches (which we may have in Vale on the 2nd point) Don't forget we have two promising young WRs we haven't seen yet in Trey Palmer and Ja-Lynn Polk. I still haven't given up on Bub Means because he's got size and talent but he's got to be on the field. This offseason will be critical for him. I'm not certain Dante Pettis or Mason Tipton are going to be long term answers. Pettis has been in the league a while now and just hasn't put it together. He doesn't fumble so he might be a nice 4th or 5th WR on your roster but I don't see him as a 2 or 3 option. Certainly not a #1
I think ideally you’ve got a new early rd pick WR
Olave
Vele
Then you’ve got a battle for the last 2 WR spots among
Palmer
Polk
Bub Means
Pettis
Tipton
Austin
Etc
I think Palmer and Polk would be clear front runners but if that’s your 5 going into next year I think we should feel pretty dang good about that group.

I’m going to bust yall bubble again. Kellen is building up his OLine & DLine in this draft. I wouldn’t count on a skill position player till the 3rd, maybe even the 4th. He told everyone after he was hired how he wanted to build this team.

Guess what? I'm good with it! How often do you hear that a team is just a LT or DE away?
You fill those skill needs with trades, free agency, and hoping to hit on mid-round picks until you are truly "a player away"

Kevin Austin is my dark horse in the WR room till he's not. I posted this in another thread:
As an aside would anyone want this WR?
40-Yard Dash: 4.43 seconds (76th percentile).
Vertical Jump: 39 inches (85th-88th percentile, tied for 3rd).
Broad Jump: 132 inches / 11 feet (94th-97th percentile, top 5).
3-Cone Drill: 6.71 seconds (87th-88th percentile, ranked 1st).
20-Yard Shuttle: 4.15 seconds (71st percentile, tied for 2nd).
Overall Athleticism:
Considered a top athlete in the WR class, showcasing elite explosiveness and agility, especially with his near-record 3-Cone time.
6'2 205lbs
Guy has had bad luck, bad demons or bad decisions chasing him it seems. Really only produced one year in college. Injuries and a year suspension held him out.
Gets passed in draft and floats with almost no production in pros. When CKM singled him out in that locker room celebration and he got one of the biggest cheers it made me look him up.
