I wonder just how much of our culture do they think they have a right to lay claim to?

Both Drew Brees and Peyton Manning have eaten beignets before. Technically, they own that too.

The way I see it is that NFL sends money to Boy Scouts of America since they've been using it for 100 yrs, then Boy Scouts sends money to France where fluer came from, and then France sends money back to America for payback for WWII. Since New Orleans is France west, just send the money back to NO!!!

It's the Saints official NFL logo. Of course the NFL owns that. This isn't really a big deal.

The Who Dat thing is the big deal.

Actually they did not trade mark all Fleur De Lis just the one on the logo...the same with the horse shoe on Indy logo. I know people really want to reach with the whole NFL is evil, but it's getting retarded!

Actually, the Fleur De Lis isn't the property of the NFL. It hails from France, and then New Orleans. You can't own someone's cultural symbol. You can tie it up in court and bleed people to death with high powered lawyers, but you can't win that one.

Again they do not have a trade make on the Fluer De Lis, but they can trademark the particular one used as the saints logo. the same as all other logos used in the NFL. The item itself is not trademarked just that particular representation. I.E. horse head, horse shoe, NY, Dolphin etc.

Which one though? There's more variations to that flower than you can believe. Matter of fact, the original is different from the current one.

It is absolutely true that the Saints Fleur-de-lis logo DID change some years ago.

The shape is the same, but, the original FdLis was bigger.

For years, I have wondered WHY the F d Lis logo changed.

Does anybody know why the Saints made it smaller?
