Wrong.

He's a lucky SOB, because WWL has no qualms about hiring radio people with diction problems.

He's an arrogant SOB, who always talks down to (admittedly dumb) callers and shuts down anyone who disagrees with him.

He's not a professional, though.

I totally agree with this. WWL really just let's it happen. At least Hebert refuses to be politically correct. Deke seems to have some real anger issues and makes it obvious he's mad and shuts people down. The only thing I'll say in his defense is that there are an abnormal amount of dumbasses calling in.

I think Cory should take his place.

Deke Bellavia is?

The greatest interviewer ever. I mean the guy can read minds. Here's a paraphrase of his last interview with Coach Payton:

Deke: Coach Payton, welcome to the show and thank you for spending the time to talk with us. It's not often we get the privilege of learning what goes on in one of the greatest minds in football.

Coach Payton: Thanks, Deke. It's a pleasure to be here in front of all these fans.

Deke: Let's get started. Coach, looking back at the game tape from the Cowboys game, it seems to me that we didn't come out of the gate very strong. If we get matched up against them in the playoffs, what will you do differently to insure that we don't come out flat again with everything on the line...because I think in the first game, we came out with three pass plays that Dallas defensed pretty well and then we go three and out. Then they get the ball and really set the tempo with touchdowns on their first two drives. It wasn't so much of us coming out flat as it was Dallas just taking advantage of the fact that we misfired on offense early and really building momentum that lasted pretty much the entire first half. It seems to me that in the event of a rematch we would want to come out with more of a balanced attack that has served us so well this year when we've been able to run it as well as have Drew work his magic through the air. Focus, intensity, and finishing strong should be stressed in practice and we should remember that no matter who we are matched up against, it's going to be a tough game and we'll havew to play 60 minutes of playoff quality football. Do you agree?

Coach Payton: Um..yeah and let me add that...

Deke: Sorry, Coach, we're out of time. Ladies and gentlemen, there you have it from the greatest mind in football.

Deke is no Buddy, or Hap for that matter.
