He said it is the most dangerous in the country. I guess he is using this to back up his claim.
"The U.S.'s most violent city is New Orleans, coming in at No. 21 on the list, with Detroit, St. Louis and Baltimore also making the top 50."

If you can take your "looking for shite to bitch about glasses off" for 3 minutes, any objective, reasonable person would conclude that he isn't bashing New Orleans here. Like them or not, he is simply stating facts. Also, I guess no one heard him say "give the city credit" a half dozen times.
Between the Goodell lambasting and "ESPN hates the Saints", this board is bordering unbearable and many of you are indirectly fueling the anti-Saints' bias the you are sensing and/or conjuring up.

Although I imagine you'll run off after posting this, I have to ask.
What are these facts you're referring to?

You obviously didn't read any of this thread. His "facts" are wrong
Posted on 5/25/12 at 12:12 pm to Hoodoo Man
Facts:
1. New Orleans gets a staggering number of sporting events. (haven't we also hosted the most superbowls ever?)
2. You have to be careful when visiting, know where to go / not go, etc.
3. The airport is small and doesn't compare to LAX and Orlando.
4. The city has done a phenomenal job attracting these venues.
5. The state is giving tax credits to film makers and it seems like it is working.
Those are what my unfiltered ears heard. I spent my first 21 years in New Orleans and love the city and the culture. Colin is a smarmy prick at times, but I can see how/why some people wonder why New Orleans gets so many sporting venues.

He didn't state his facts the same way you made your list. He was a little bit more abbrasive than the way you put it.

Impressive.
NONE of these things bother us.
What happened to this "Fact?"

Are you sure you listened to the whole rant?
Just read this thread if it's easier.

I did. You guys are nitpicking.
Imagine being in a different city and hearing those 3 minutes of air time - not pausing and rewinding to analyze every noun, verb, and adjective. You walk away with what you already know - New Orleans is an awesome city with crime issues, but despite this, they attract all of the big sporting events.
Can anyone admit that New Orleans gets more than its fair share of sporting events? I mean, I think it's great, but no one seems to understand that this may get other cities/people wondering why.

Colin is not worth 6 post let alone 6 pages.

You're not wrong.
But let's face it, the guy gets listeners.
And when he's telling all of his people that New Orleans is the most dangerous city in the country with no further context...the consequences stretch beyond our feelings.

Oh noes - he was wrong? I don't believe it. Damn, I guess my argument is moot.
I wouldn't use the word "safe" to describe anything in the city limits. I never feel "safe" in New Orleans proper when I visit, but I do in the 'burbs.

Agreed.

Dude, New Orleans will continue to get shitloads of sporting events despite what this gay, atheist, sports radio hack says.
Just let him be jealous and move on. You love your city (and so do I) and that is all that matters.

You're the one rehashing.
I was done with this thread until you decided to come here and show us all how we're acting irrationally.
