it sounded like he was really looking forward to the TV booth.
i heard him on Dan Patrick and Jim Rome.
Dan Patrick was telling him how tough it can be and that you really have to work at that craft.
he may or may not like doing the booth who knows? He could take another coaching job soon and always use the cop out that it "wasn't for him"
I would be disappointed if he did go back to coaching in 2023 though. Sure, there is the compensation but that would bother me.
especially if he went to the Cowboys or really any NFC team. it obviously wouldn't be a nfc south team but still...
on Jim Rome they talked about Bill Cowher and how he settled in with a TV job and was happy and never coached again.
on one hand, I'm thankful for what he did for the Saints.
on the other, I was disappointed when he stepped away. I know they had a rough year, and it took its toll, but it annoyed me to see how he left the offensive unit.
uncertainty at QB
Kamara's situation (can't fault Payton there but worth noting).
One really good WR who didn't play at all last year. I like Deonte Harris and Callaway but we definitely need more firepower here.
offensive line good unit but Peat and Armstead get hurt a lot. Ruiz may benefit with Marrone coming aboard but don't hold your breath.
the defense and the kicking game should be really good again though

What an incredibly stupid statement. How the hell is a coach quitting on a player and his team not about him.
