Spencer has better arm talent, but I feel like he doesn’t play on time, doesnt have the best ball placement and doesn’t have good touch. All his balls are fastballs.
Shough seems to have good ball placement and more release points. He plays well when on time and protected. When a play breaks down though, I feel like it all goes to crap.
I think Shough is the better long term option, but I wouldn’t mind if he sat for a while and we kept competition going for the first half of the season.

I guess I should have said the Spencer has the stronger arm. Like I said, Shough has more release points and more touch. Spencer lacks that touch.
