Denver would be more than happy to get rid of both of these trouble makers.

Good thing for the Saints? Sell high on Brees, he's bound to fail shortly.

Even if he falls from last years numbers, he'll still be better than Cutler.

And you have yet to give me a reason why I should think that Cutler won't suffer the same decrease.

and didn't the QB's stats I posted all go to at least the playoffs in their Spike years?

And some of them went to the playoffs in their down years also

Who cares if Brees has a 10-15 percent drop off from last season. He will still have thrown for over 4000 yards if he does. He is THE most productive QB in the NFL right now and trading him for any other QB would be a loss.

Your logic is horrible. Buy low sell, high. Well guess what we bought Brees high and if we sold him we'd be selling him at a higher cost measured in dollars and lost opportunity for a QB that we would have to pay almost as much for and receive a complete lack of performance and to top it off TWO LOCKER ROOM NUISANCES. These are the exact people you would pay to stay AWAY from your team.

do you believe that Cutler's spike is 4,500 and 25 Td's?

he posted 3,500 and 20 in his first starting year, and that was with undiagnosed Diabetes, and being injured in the Detroit game (3 completions) and then coming off the Bench for Ramsey when he went down in the next game.....all while still suffering from injury.

quote:

Ramsey completed 29 of 46 passes for 262 yards with a TD pass to Brandon Stokley, an interception and a fumble. Brandon Marshall caught nine passes for 96 yards

from Patrick Ramsey..the dude's a beast whomever is throwing him the ball.

The question is Cutler AND Marshall.

High isn't coming off shoulder surgery..that's low. We paid HIGH, but bought Low...it just happened to work out.

It could be Cutler and Hercules for all I care. The answer is NO. There is no logic to back this up and it is insane.

Your paradox amazes me. There is no way to pay high while buying low as pertaining to this situation. I think they call this an oxyMORON.

This is how desperate the NFL has become about its glaring quarterback problem. Teams now are willing to gamble big, big bucks -- and take on a significant amount of risk -- to acquire quarterbacks with major question marks, all in the desperate quest of winning.

The Saints have paid Drew Brees, damaged shoulder and all, a handsome sum, just hoping he'll heal well enough to be the quarterback he was prior to his injury. No one knows for sure if his arm, never that strong when healthy, will have enough zip post-injury to allow him to function at a high level. But for the Saints, the potential upside of a Brees after the disappointment of the Aaron Brooks era was obviously worth the risk.

Yes I do think it is VERY VERY unlikely that Cutler will throw for 4500 or more yards next season. Especially when you consider that like the Saints the Bronco's had no running game but that was bc of injuries.

Cutler isn't gonna throw over 600 attempts next year.

If he does give you more than 25 TD's is it going to be more than 34? How much more?

Plus nothing you have shown tells me he is gonna throw less INT's. Drew's TD-INT ratio much better than Cutler.

As for Marhsall the 2nd half of the season he was pretty much nowhere excpet against shitty teams. A top 10 WR for sure, but not a top 5 and in that case the talent doesn't outweigh the headaches.

and here is the big question. If this trade is such the No Brainer you make it out to be, then why would Denver make the deal??

and they still have no running game. But I don't think that he'll go for 4,500 mainly due to the new coaching staff....ie not because of his ability.

would Cutler,Colston,Marshall would out-produce Brees,Colston,Henderson?

I know what your trying to say, but it is wrong because we paid top dollar and he is still worth top dollar. We invested in someone who had off season question marks for the price of someone proven. It cancels out. We paid what he is worth and now he is worth what he is paid. His value hasn't changed.

Drew is the first marquee QB the Saints have had since Archie ( and our suck team killed him ). I thought for sure this thread was a joke and very sad to find out some folks were serious.
