do we have a new serious mocker in da house? you doing some work my friend. Will look'em up.
The 1st Rd OLB & 3rd Rd NT looks like the ideal situation to me. Williams looks legit. He's another guy that should only lift his stock at the Combine though. I mocked Geathers but that is more of a reach at #75. I'm witcha. What is the mascot for Missouri Southern is the question.

What makes you say that? He doesn't project as a 43 DE for a reason. He'll be standing up in more space than he would be hand in the dirt. I know its cool to hate on the LSU players who come out for the draft, but he fits the mold of a Aldon Smith or Von Miller pretty perfectly.
Did some of yal watch Aldon Smith or Von Miller in college? Seriously, I see these comparisons thrown out and they are fvcking absurd. Both of those players were dominant, changed games.
When did Mingo ever dominant and change a game? I have watched close to every reasonably big game since he signed with LSU. I'd say the closest things to dominant efforts would be his RS FR year against Tennessee I think, his RS Soph year against Oregon, and nothing really comes to mind this season. When did he flash anything other than a speed rush? He threw a spin move in once or twice, but he got owned on it more times than not. When has he shown the ability to break a blocker's hands once he's engaged?
Trust me this isn't me just wanting to hate on LSU players. I loved Mingo coming out of high school and even as a RS Fr. I thought he could be the next Kearse. I question the kid's work ethic and inability to gain significant size in arguably the top S&C program in the nation at LSU.
I'll be here to admit if I'm wrong, and maybe I'm just bitter at him never developing into what I expected him to be at LSU, but I really think this would be a huge failure. The only reason I think he could succeed is how much Ryan could potentially move him around. If NFL offenses and OLs know where he's coming from he won't ever be a dominant pass rusher IMO.

Just as many say the same thing about Jordan. I defer to the Saints staff in who they choose or don't choose. It may be more art and luck to drafting than skill and science. Aldon Smith and Bruce Irvin are the latest examples of players that were reached for that panned out as pass rushers. It is a highly valued commodity in the ever increasing pass happy NFL.
I agree on Jordan. I don't love either of them, but give me Jordan over Mingo any day. He has a higher ceiling in my book, but I'm not ecstatic about either of them. I personally hate our position this year and don't think there's any sure thing where we're sitting. I'm extremely nervous about this draft especially with the results I've seen from Ryan and his drafts (or lackthereof).
Also, like I mentioned to another poster, Smith and Irvin were both dominant in college. I never got that feeling with Mingo, but we will surely see.

not on with this, I dunno about Cleveland but as far as draft war rooms Jones in Dallas & Davis back then in Oakland are prolly two of the most dominant presences. That is, they might listen to a coordinator but the choices are ALL theirs.
Mingo had a much more dominant 2011. If he would have replicated that he would have been the lock as first end rusher drafted. The first half of the Clemson game he looked like Aldon Smith.
Ya never know on the end result of any of'em. There's surprises in both directions every year...
2008
Vernon Gholston a huge bust at #6
Cliff Avril now looking at mega millions was #92
2009
Aaron Maybin a huge bust at #11
Larry English close if not bust at #16
Clay Matthews was #26
Paul Kruger now gonna get a big deal was #57
2010
Jerry Hughes a bust at #31
Navarro Bowman #91- oops
Giants reach for JPP at #15 but he turns out to be the real deal
More recently, Aldon Smith at #7 and Bruce Irvin at #15 were widely called reaches that high but both proved they are legit.
The skill of elite pass rushers is so valued ya gotta go for them if you think they have IT- even if the words project & potential are some of the most prominent in their scouting reports.

Wow blues, making it hard to dispute Jordan OR Mingo at 15 with that analysis
Everyone is downing these guys because of their abilities against OT's, but don't you think a coach would gameplan around that? I know 3-4's throw in OLB stunts quite often to get speed coming after the QB in many directions, Just have to keep the protection guessing.

Ok Im changing mine....
1.Kansas City Chiefs: Eric Fisher, OT, Central Michigan
2.Jacksonville Jaguars: Dion Jordan, DE/OLB, Oregon
3.Oakland Raiders: Sharrif Floyd, DT, Florida
4.Philadelphia Eagles: Luke Joeckel, OT, Texas A&M
5.Detroit Lions: Ezekiel Ansah, DE/OLB, BYU
6.Cleveland Browns: Dee Milliner, CB, Alabama
7.Arizona Cardinals: Matt Barkley, QB, USC
8.Buffalo Bills: Geno Smith, QB, West Virginia
9. New York Jets: Cordarrelle Patterson, WR, Tennessee
10.Tennessee Titans: Desmond Trufant, CB, Washington
11.San Diego Chargers: Jonathan Cooper, G/C, North Carolina
12.Miami Dolphins: Lane Johnson, OT, Oklahoma
13.Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Xavier Rhodes, CB, Florida State
14.Carolina Panthers: Star Lotulelei, NT, Utah
15.New Orleans Saints: Barkevious Mingo, DE/OLB, LSU
I think this may still be wrong because I think the Chiefs will end up with Alex Smith and trade out of the #1 pick.
Two separate transactions of course.

Most of the latest mocks seems pretty reasonable and similar to one another. The only thing I would dispute would be Geno Smith to the Bills. They have/plan to retain both Jackson and Fitzpatrick last I saw.
But mehhh, what do I know? A for effort!

Buddy Nix GM of the Bills recently said in an interview that he plans to draft a franchise QB this year in the draft. Even said he would move up to do so.

Either Buddy is throwing up a smoke screen or he should be fired for being a idiot of a GM.

That doesn't necessarily mean move up from #8. Just as well could be moving up from #41

Combine Results...
The medical issues with Lotulelei and Jones are huge. Both Top 5 players that could fall 10+ spots possibly cuz of the issues. But it no sure thing. Either could still be #2-3 or #15 just as well for all we know.
At this point I'll be happy if just one QB goes before #15. I think it's closer to zero than two going.
Gonna move Damontre Moore out of the top 15 unless he has some kinda slam bang pro day that varies from his combine performance.
Think it looks a lot more like two CBs before #15 now too.

Ive already explained why I think the Bills take Geno, The reason have the Cards taking Barkley is they feel in love with him at the combine and they love under talented USC QBs so I think those two picks are a lock. This may change before the draft but right now Im sticking to it.
