I'm not saying the challenges mattered in the end, but I want to discuss this because it's so obvious to me right now.

I knew he was bad, but i feel like he hit a new low this year with challenges.
I love CSP, but damn.

Is there a single HC in the league worse than Payton at challenges?

As soon as he didn’t challenge that 3rd down conversion I said out loud he was going to make it up by challenging something stupid later.

They’re probably all not that great

He was 2/4 on the season before last night and I didn’t think either were awful attempts

That spot was so fricked up, I was kinda baffled that CSP didn't challenge it.

And then he wastes two stupid (at least one stupid) challenges on one drive.
I mean, damn.

Both were clear on the first replay. Someone should have yelling in his ear not to challenge.

the no challenge on the first drive of the game was bad. That was not a first down. Vikings went on to get a TD...

Would they have even had the camera angle to over turn it? The only one that was useful was the SkyCam, but even then it wasnt great.

He is pretty bad. I am Bengals fan and Marvin Lewis is a steaming pile of crap for challenges. So there is some competition.

A lot of times it seems like Payton succumbs to emotions when challenging. "I wanted that outcome to be different and now I am going to roll the dice and see if this mildly questionable call works out in my favor."

Was it Payton though? Shouldnt there be someone upstairs directing down to the field when to throw the challenge flag or not? Regardless, whoever it was with those two challenges yesterday did a pathetic job.

He claims the monitor in the Saints upstairs booth went out during the period of time when both of those challenges took place. I believe him. Its pretty common for there to be tech "glitches" affecting the away teams in NFL stadiums.

The first challenge on the long pass didn't even have to look at replay. The second one was a little confusing because we did have plenty of time.

Yeah, I mean, someone is in his ear.
Whoever they are, they suck.

Probably Joe Vitt.

Read somewhere that Payton said the replay monitors were out in the sidelines.

What was awful about them? On the Wright catch, his entire sideline is saying no catch and he didn’t have backup from the booth

Yea he has coaches in the booth who depend on game monitors to show them replays. The monitors went out.

Because SP is aggressive and he prob had players in his ear giving him false info.

Youre telling me the Vikings bench was advocating that their receiver didnt catch the ball for a first down?
