The Saints could have drafted one of the top 3 tackles and there would be people going nuts, because OL isn't a "fun" pick.

I disagree. I think a lot of us would've been ecstatic to finally land an elite LT from the get-go instead of waiting for one to develop over the course of 3/4 years. Get 1 pro bowl and ditch us for another team that is willing to back up the brinks truck.

I do think the NFC South did very well addressing needs as a whole. Carolina wanted a DT and got one and Atlanta and Tampa both needed a CB. Tampa especially, having to face two different potent passing attacks, rather than just one for Atlanta.

Yeah I hated what our division did with their picks because the Panthers and Falcons got top 1-3(imo) draft players at highly needed positions, while the Bucs got a top 1-2 NFL player at a needed position.

I feel they definitely did about as well as they could have hoped.

I wasn't saying that the majority would go nuts. There would certainly be some people bitching, though. I 100% agree about how you said you'd feel. I would've walked away happy tonight with any of the following: edge rusher, secondary help, or a LT.

Agreed. The Panthers still don't frighten me even though they got a good player, I wish Tampa would've given up more for Revis, and Atlanta got a nice boost, but still not enough to slow us down.

I really, really want to believe that Atlanta was trading up to take Eiffert and then he went one pick before them.

Yeah I'm not scared of any of them, but dammit if these players make our games against them tougher.

Although I think we did about as well as we could have(though MANY will disagree). Definitely needed a safety against the passing attacks and also think he can play well against the run option judging from his film.

There will always be people who complain even if we land a Mario Williams clone with our 15th pick. I feel like the bitching about Vaccaro is more justifiable than most of the 1st round picks that I've seen. Maybe it's because I absolutely hate how soft the Longhorn defense is despite loading up with top HS prospects every year. I also see a lot of concern in our D-line and our pass rush. We didn't have to draft a guy to address the front 7 at pick #15, but they could've worked out a deal to fall back and possibly get an extra pick in a very deep 2nd round. It seemed like half the teams pulled of some type of trade.

I honestly never watched a Texas game, I've just watched his tape. It really just sounds like the Saints had Vaccaro pretty high on their board and they were tickled that he was there.

and like i said, tomorrow i'll update with a slew of film examples and numbers to offset his "highlights" and "strengths" as a player.

Nothing quite like a First Round DB selection that runs a 4.63 "40"

Personally, I was thinking that the first post was proof women shouldn't be around sand, but this works too.
