I agree ST Augustine - i could not have said it better.

and DD, i don't lump thos retards in with most fans or the team in atlanta. ever fanbase has its idiots, can't judge them all based on the actions of a few.

IE updike is not is not an indication of all bama fans.

I live in Atlanta, and I have to think twice about wearing Saints gear when i go out with my kid. I've had a handful of situations where I was wearing Saints gear and never said a word, yet got inflammatory remarks. One was a drunk bartender talking shite/yelling at me about Katrina. Needless to say, he was fired. I don't need the Gleason thing to hate the team and the city any more than i do...and i didn't do something stupid like making fun of Tommy Nobis or someone like him. Atlanta is a city that talks crap about the people of New Orleans daily, especially after the hurricane. But i live here and i see the trash...I ask them to look in the mirror.

Funny, I hear the same thing about Atlanta all the time down here. Guess we both are just behind enemy lines.

You sir are a fricking idiot that probably brings shitty attention towards you or hangs out in the shitty parts of this city.

I mean seriously. You cite a drunk bartender as your reason why this city is horrible? Hell we all have shitty cities then.

Do you realize what Falcons fans go through if they wear anything falcons related in NOLA? I love the city, food and the people until the fricking rivalry comes into play.

Tell me where there is a Falcons fans bar in NOLA . There isnt one. I have been to many Saints bars in Atlanta.

You are full of shite for saying you are so oppressed.

Be a better fan.

ETA: being from Marietta you know of MANY LSU/Saints bars and restaurants. If you were a normal fan I would have a blast talking to you about Saints/Falcons football at Atkins Park or up at Henry's. Instead you decide to say how horrible all the Falcon fans are(who most say the falcons have very little fans) because you are not able to wear a jersey. Saints fans can do what they please in this city.

ETAETA: For those that don't know, Marietta is upper middle class to upper class. Unless he goes downtown or south Atlanta he is full of shite. Unless the privileged kids are picking on him.

I personally have never heard jokes like this. I agree it would be inappropriate and not even funny.

The right thing to do would be to start a thread of Falconslife urging them to stop doing so.

I actually have never heard of that site and I am a season ticket holder.

As an Auburn fan there are some fanatical sites that I have never been a part of, I would like to keep it the same way for my pro team to be honest. I won't be able to talk sense into them. They are idiots. Just like there are Saints fans that are idiots that think the city, state and every fan of the Falcons is evil or an a-hole. We can't change those demented minds.

Why would you even want to cater to the fringe like that?

I shouldn't have gone off on the Marietta guy up a few posts like I did. It was just a "WTF" moment that I had to respond to since he is talking about people like me.

Once again as an Auburn fan I understand the idiotic fanaticism that can happen and the certain sites that cater to it.

I am the type that invites the opposing team over to my tailgate because experiencing the other food etc is what makes it great.

Firing? I'll say no, but I have no problem with it. That company has a right to do what they think is best for them. I'm all for freedom of speech, but you have to be ready to deal with the backlash in this day and age where everything is viral.

More than that...it's just old. Give it a rest.

Katrina jokes are all fun and games until the Saints win the Super Bowl and kick the shite out of Atlanta. Then it's b/c of the "Katrina refs".

I've repeatedly stated I do not associate these idiots with falcons fans or Blank, Smith, etc. It is not a reflection of them or their character. There was plenty of outrage from ATL as well.

Of course we have all come to respect Gleason and his platform was primarily provided due to his playing career, ties to the saints. If some fricktard on any station performed the skit my reaction would've been the same. I look at Steve as a guy who is a couple of years older than me, also with a young son. He is unable to show his son that he loves him in any of the ways we commonly associate with a fathers love. I couldn't fathom being there but being trapped inside my own body with my eyes being my only method of affection or communication. The fact that Gleason blocked a punt against the city in question's franchise/rivalry between the teams couldn't matter less to me.

The pre produced skit of going after a guy who has done nothing but positive things for others, after receiving one of the most cruel death sentences imaginable in his mid 30s is fricking heinous and I'm reallygglad those shitheads got axed.

I am 31 years old and have hated the falcons as long as I can remember. So frick those bastards; I hope they don't get another radio gig

That being said......I can't imagine anyone on this board stating the outrage saints fans feel any better than what you have posted.

Steve Gleason is a beloved part of the Saints family (Orgaization & fans). Not just in New Orleans but in the entire state and the gulf region. When this terrible disease does cause the good lord to call him home....the proverbial tears cried by devout saints fans would overflow the Mississippi River. We love you Steve
