Apparently head of officiating in New York can correct call on the field with or without a flag. And hes going to loose his job because of it.

I didnt spin anything, I have already stated my point several times that I dont believe this is the case. I feel that it is rigged, but this is more likely than them just not noticing that mauling of our WR...

I know exactly what they were thinking.

I lol’d because the idea that anyone could rationally believe “the PI wasn’t that bad” on a play when the receiver is sent flying head over heels landing on his chest after being drilled in the face before the ball is close to him is just that, absolutely laughable.

Just like they called the the Chiefs offsides on an interception that would have ended the game in their favor?

If it’s true that they colluded to not call a penalty in the final minutes that’s the most egregious scenario. It means it was pre meditated.

What idiot is using that as an excuse?

But in the refs head they very well could have thought, "the PI wasnt that bad, and if i call this the game is over. Then it will be my fault for keeping a team out of the superbowl... and the saints are probably going to win anyway.".

If that thought did go through his head, he should be fired for incompetence. Not that bad is both guys hand checking downfield and both with their heads turned for the ball. Bad is running right through a guy and making head contact while never looking for the ball... while the pass is still 3 yards away.

Every defense of that call boils down to these themes: 1) bad calls happen a few times in every game; 2) towards the end of the game, the Refs just let the players play, because they don't want a penalty call to affect the game's outcome.

Both "defenses" are admissions that: 1) the NFL can't find a way to consistently apply the rules of the game, and the result is that the rules are arbitrarily enforced by accident; 2) the rules are arbitrarily enforced WITH INTENT from the NFL.

Both are admissions that the rules of the game are enforced arbitrarily and that the outcome of many games is affected.

How could anybody be a huge fan of such a game?
