Why not? Granted, I didn’t see the game, but this seems like exactly the Zion we’d want. Minus 30 pounds or so.

You answered your own question.

With regards to Zion's field goal attempts being low, you can't blame BI.

The criticisms about Zion's jogging and lack of effort in rebounding are spot on. With his unique athletic ability, there is no reason he shouldn't be a dominant rebounder and a big time shot blocker. But the criticism of shot attempts is pretty ridiculous. Offensively, he continued to make the right pass, but never received the ball back when reposting or cutting. In the first half of the Lakers game, there were at least a dozen possessions where Ingram or McCollum received the ball with more than 15 seconds on the shot clock and the ball never touched another player's hands. It wasn't just missed shots, it was bad shots, bad decisions, and just plain bad basketball.

As much as Zion's injuries and conditioning have been a repetitive, years long problem, playing hero ball on national tv has been just as repetitive of a problem for the team's other highly paid players.

There is no NBA defense that can consistently hold Zion to 10 shots per game. None.

That only happens if Zion isn't assertive over a sustained period.

Correct. It can only be done if he allows his teammates to do so. I agree that he has to be more aggressive and tell the role players to play their freaking roles. It's clear the head coach is afraid to step on their toes, much less sit them down when required.
