Suns Corollary

Teams that have played the Suns multiple times this year who are ahead of the Pels in seeding as it stands (1/9/18):
OKC (4-0)
LAC (3-0)
Denver (2-0) -- about to be 3-0 come Saturday
GSW (2-0)
LAL (2-0)
SAS (2-1)
Por (1-0)
Hou (0-0)
Also, in contention:
Sac (1-1)
Mem (1-1)
Min (0-1)
Mavs (1-2)
The Pels are (1-0) with 3 more tilts to go vs. the Suns.
Point being, two fringe playoff teams ahead of the Pels in the standings have already pretty much burned their WC auto-wins. And that's easy (re: free) ground the Pels can make up in a heartbeat. Especially if they're healthy. Pels have 6 games vs. the 2 worst teams in the league - Suns & Cavs and are 3-0. Whereas Dallas is 1-2. These are the margins that will decide a WC Playoff birth.

Those Suns who have won
at home vs DAL (twice), MEM, SAS, MIN, SAC
away vs MIL, NYK, BOS, ORL
But understand and agree with Your point.
