You can recognize where he needs to get better but you and several other people seem to think he won’t or can’t.

If people started out saying “I think he will improve in these aspects” then we wouldn’t have this argument. They didn’t. You’ve said “he’s struggled in these aspects”. No one had brought up the things he did well until after I pointed out the blatant negativity directed at him.

Go read your own posts pal. It’s wasn’t until the bottom of last page that you actually brought up what he can/needs to improve on. Before that it was blatant “he couldn’t do this at 19 years old so i don’t want him”.

ok
first post about Kira:

I'm definitely not going to say he can't get better and have a nice career in the NBA, b/c he can

and at no point did i say he couldn't do this at 19. Just b/c someone didn't do something, doesn't mean they can't get better.
and at no point did i say, i don't want him. My point in saying why i don't think he'll be on the team next year is b/c of salary reasons and where he is currently on the pecking order of our roster. If he fits into our salaries and we stay under the tax line, without getting worst, then i absolutely want to keep him, but as i've said before, i'm not going to be a tax team just to keep Kira Lewis.

I know it's just highlight videos, but there's a gigantic difference between watching Kira's highlights from his rookie year, and Jose's, and if you want to add someone close to his age, Maxey's. He wasn't injured his rookie year, and again, he played his most minutes with Jaxson and Zion on the court.

Teddy in this same exact thread you made the argument that teams wouldn’t give up a 2nd round pick for Kira. Is this a joke?

“ i honestly don't like being so negative about Kira, b/c he seems like a good kid and I do think he can stay in the league for a long time if he improves”

You even admitted yourself about being negative towards him in this thread.

I’m not going to continue to argue with you because it’s exhausting and pointless until he plays. I have never changed opinions tho. I see his potential, I know he had good moments, I know he had shitty coaches and players around him, I know he can do better with this current team/ coaching staff, and I can see that he was young/ is young and has the potential to get better.

You don’t think he will be on the team because you don’t think he is playable and his 6mil salary won’t be worth it. I think otherwise.

See, you're simply reading this in its most simplistic way. That's not how i mean it. I am not saying he isn't worth a 2nd. I'm asking you, which i have a few times now, to tell me a team that is going to absorb his salary, and give us a 2nd round pick for him. Notice the difference. I didn't say he wasn't worth a 2nd.
Now go look at the teams capable of absorbing his contract. There's two teams. Spurs and Pacers. There's also a bunch of teams with TPE's that could trade for him, but i doubt anyone in the tax would take him on, and if a team is close to the tax, which most teams are except for the guys you expect to be bad are, they'd have to send guys back to us. So those bad teams aren't really in the business of giving up assets for anything right now. They want to use their TPE's and cap space to take on bad salaries from teams trying to avoid the tax, and they want an asset back for it.

So when you really look at it in fine detail, who's going to have that much love for Kira based on what they've seen thus far to give up a 2nd round pick for him and absorb his contract, or send us a worthless expiring back? Maybe if he shows something this first half of the season, if he even plays, then someone would do that, but his injury is also a big reason why i don't think anyone would give up an asset for him right now.
It's not that he isn't worth a 2nd round pick, it's that the circumstances currently aren't conducive to anyone actually doing that.

Haven't said he isn't playable. just said he isn't in the 10 man rotation, and if you aren't in there, you're going to get very minimal minutes unless there are injuries, which there will be. We are a good team, with really nice depth right now. that's the reality of it.
And i don't think he's not worth his rookie contract, simply that i'm not keeping him if it means we are over the tax b/c of his salary.

and i'd be tickled blue if he goes out there when he finally does play and shows out. I've said it almost every single post. I like Kira, and i want him to succeed.

b/c I spoke the truth about how he's looked thus far but i like the kid and still believe in him. the point of me saying that is b/c just b/c he hasn't looked like a lottery pick doesn't mean he can't be a good player once he settles in. He has things to work on and when he improves on those things, he'll be a good player. but you can't just ignore what you've seen thus far, which has mostly been not that good, with very few sprinkles of good.
the unfortunate truth for Kira is that too many guys have passed him up on this current roster, and what's probably best for him in his career is to get traded this year. some of that is his slow start, some of that is his injury.
