Actually, I do believe the focus is going to be much closer to the actual entrance of the Arena. However, it wouldn't hurt to have some vendors/attractions/whatever along the walkway from the original CS to Girod to the entrance. JMO.

Yeah. I think it's going to take some work for them to get the formula right, but in the end it'll work for the most part and be cool.
CS is going to evolve, as is the entire area. That's the idea. It's just not going to be overnight.
Here are two articles from a couple of years ago that detail some things that have happened and some yet to come, with at least some of the latter not even starting until after the Super Bowl.

These also talk about the "dream" of a downtown tower etc. So, it's not a locked in plan, as much as any plan can be.
At any rate, with these timetables and more construction in the Area after 2/2013, I don't expect anything that happens with respect to CS and Hornets games during this coming season to necessarily reflect the future relations.
