Firsts also make a cap impression while seconds do not. This can affect teams trying to milk their cap space maximally.

What about trade Gordon and Morrow to Houston for Asik, $3 million in cash and Houston's 1st rounder (that can then be sold for cash if not desired).

I know Houston would never want Gordon, but Morrow at that cheap would be worth it and Gordon could be shopped as a potential expiring next season assuming he doesn't pick up his option.

Not going to happen in hell, but wishful thinking.

That trade wouldn't be legal from a cap standpoint. Way too big of a salary cap disparity. If, a big if considering Harden, they took Gordon for Asik, they wouldn't include the cash kicker. Also, the first rounder is a pipe dream.

I can't imagine anyone would be dumb enough to give us a 1st rounder for less than half a season of a bench player.

Maybe not dumb. But does anyone in this upcoming draft have two firsts besides Philly?

Given how little we've played Withey and Jackson being relegated to D-League, what value could a 2nd rounder even have on this team?

The Heat could probably use another shooter
