For sure, it's like watching the 'Gang that Can't Shoot Straight' in reruns. This team, takes advantages and turns them into disadvantages but also takes disadvantages and turns them into advantages. Attitude, which is a direct reflection of coaching, was not a bright spot last night. That was a game that could easily have been won but squandered. Team doesn't have a killer mindset and neither does coaching.
You watch Jalen Johnson just abuse them in the paint and you continue with Cain and JRE? But you have Jemmison and Karlo right there and they don't get any run when you know your undermanned? If nothing else, that's 12 fouls you have. Its like the Pels pre-programmed Cain and JRE despite what's going on, on the court.
Players aren't off the hook either, just bad when players make bad turnovers, but then double down on goofiness by being non-chalant on the next play. I counted 3 straight turnovers in the fourth quarter on the Pels 'hallmark play' ... the dribble handoff.
FO, the leader of the gang, don't help the players and coach either. Pels are down three of their four primary ballhandlers, but FO makes no moves for someone who is actually good at dribbling .... lets sign another wing!
Back to the thread, you know there is going to be a logjam when this team gets healthy. Pels have a ton of information on what works and what doesn't, but these folks are making decisions studying spreadsheets and game plans instead of actually looking up, and seeing what's going on in the actual game. At least it will be interesting to see how they handle/mishandle that.
