was as big a Thornton booster as the next guy, but even I'll say it was the right trade to make. We needed a tough big in the middle off the bench. Gray, though nobody beats him, Smith, and Andersen were NOT tough. Pretty soft actually. This also pretty much phases DJ Mbenga out the picture entirely.

+1
but now the issue from two years ago is back in our face, we have no one too take the load off.

I love Carl Landry, but I dont agree it was the right move to make. I guess my expectations are higher than others on this board. I want to win a championship and this roster is not where it needs to be to win a championship. Im mainly upset that Demps made the move to win now but even with Landry we arent better than the top teams in the west. Marcus Thornton is my favorite player in the league and I believed his upside could have been a borderline all star and maybe even an allstar in some years. I just think that Carl Landry is the final piece of the puzzle type player for a team thats championship material, where i dont think this team is at, at the present time. I am going to monitor Thornton progress for the rest of the year but my loyalty will always be with the Hornets and hopefully we will make some noise the rest of the year.

very well said. Sacrificing our future for a second round series (at very best) is unfortunate.Landry is a free agent this year.If we wanted him badly enough,we could've pursued him in the offseason ( and save me the "if the hornets aren't in the playoffs, cp3 demands a trade arguement." If the new CBA allows for franchise tags, he's not going anywhere for a while.)

Just drilled a clutch 3 pointer to tie the game with less than 20 seconds left.

Typical reaction. But in the grander scheme of things, good bench bigs tend to be more valuable than good bench wings.

I plan on continuing to post in this thread, unless someone deletes it. Anyone wants to turn it into more than just keeping up with a locally tied player is their own problem.

That's cool, I was talking about this thread in general, not your posting. This thread is hilarious in itself, since oyu know... he isn't on the Hornets

after the Hornets lose in Round 1 lots of people will.So you beat some Monty loyalists (that 8-0 start sure made him a favorite around here) to the punch.Good for you.

So you guys think, regardless of what happens, the final verdict on Williams and Demp can be reached after their first season? Considering the fricked up franchise they took over and what they had to work with?

This entire thread...these Hornetards, everything. Is ridiculous Jay.

Considering what the expectations were for this season, we should all be ecstatic that we aren't even one of the worst teams in the West.

Has it been up-and-down? Without a doubt. But are we in a better spot than we were a year ago in terms of personnel? Yes.

Instead of being concerned with Marcus Thornton, how about we worry about hoping we find an owner who would commit to keeping the team in New Orleans so we can have discussions like the Thornton one in the future? Makes sense to me.
