In other news....I saw Kobe Bryant hit the 30,000 Point Club last night.

I was disappointed in our crowd for not really acknowledging history happening right in front of us. Not sure if the game had to completely stop at that point, but I think next dead ball they should have given him a standing O or something. I know after halftime they announced it and put the spotlight on him, but I think majority of the people in the arena didn't even know what happend when he made the little jumped in the lane. Congrats to Kobe and I'm happy to say I got to witness something like this.

Definitely something someone would put on their bucketlist and probably not be able to do. It is very difficult to get into this club as he is now the 5th person to do it in NBA history...

Video of Kobe Joining History(31 sec long)

quote:

Kobe Bryant scored his 30,000th point on Wednesday and finished with 29 points, six rebounds, four assists, three steals and one 3-pointer against the Hornets.
He passed the milestone on a shot in the paint over Robin Lopez and we'll be seeing Lopez's hair in the highlight of the play for quite some time. Bryant joins Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Karl Malone, Michael Jordan and Wilt Chamberlain as the only others to do so. Kobe is looking like he's still in his prime and his 28.0 points per game is on pace to be his best total since 2008.

and with that mentality that is pathetic....only 4 other people before him have done it, and it will NEVER happen for someone in a Hornets/Pelicans Uniform. It was worth standing and giving him a standing O....

It wasn't. The crowd was pissed because they give him those points before halftime, it was like the refs wanted to just get it out the way early. When he got back in in the second, the whistle just kept going off. Crowd don't have to cheer for another player, that's ridiculous. Good for him, but that superstar shite is as retarded as you thinking fans needed to congratulate him. And when they did acknowledge him I know people didn't seem to really care.

I understand them, they and him are the visiting team, they already had a Kobe section, the rest came to see the hornets win. I didn't cheer for him, that's just not in me to cheer for the opposing team's player. No matter how great the achievement.

I was in that #! Fricken need to just set screens for Anderson and let him shoot all night! Pisses me off! We lost the game after halftime when the lakers just kept dumping it into Howard...Next thing you know I look up and we're down 13...

Why in the hell as a hornet fan would I acknowledge a player that doesn't play for my team?

Meh. I knew he was close but in the heat of the moment and multiple phantom calls I wasn't thinking about his 30k. If it was a big deal they could have made an announcement when it happen. Plenty of people stood and applauded at half when it was brought up.

History....When something occurs rarely you acknowledge...Even if it was for instance Lakers/Celts....they would have acknowledged...

I was talking about "in game"....they played 2:00 min out and then went to half and AFTER half acknowledged...

My point was mainly for when it actually happened though..

Not even the Kobe fan boys clapped. Some guys behind me were from la and we all knew he was close but didn't know till half when we looked it up.
It didn't help that he got it on 3 straight phantom calls and people were pissed.
When they said it majority of people stood and Kobe walked out and waived. Not sure what else could expect.

The guys behind me were from la and knew all about their team. They were on vacation and Lakers happened to be in town.like I said we knew he was close but weren't counting down free throws like it was new years count down.

I tend to have a above avg bball iq and didn't notice it till halftime.

So if you are unaware of how many points someone has in their career, you have zero basketball iq?
