Along with not trading picks we have to get good talent with them (not austin rivers) the only team we would lose AD too would be Chicago, his home town team.

Agreed, especially since its in the East and Thibs is a very great coach that would make him even better and probably surround him with quality players.

I don't see that happening for another 5-6 years though, so we just need to build correctly from here on out.

Trading Tyreke, Ryno, and EG at once might be the best option if this season is over by all-star week.

The way I see it, they eat up 34.1mil (8.5 Ryno, 11 Reke, and 14.6 EG) together. If we can give up tyreke and ryno, we need to grab someone like Jeff Green or Jimmy Butler if chicago doesn't want to give him max, a bunch of expirings/draft picks, and hope to sign Wesley Matthews in the offseason (pretty much the only good, "young" SG available).

Wesley Matthews is probably going to get paid big time. If Avery Bradley is getting 8 mil a year I can only imagine what Matthews will get. He would be a perfect fit on this team though.

After Kobe's contract is over next year, Lakers will break the bank to get Anthony Davis. Book it Dano!

I honestly see Wesley Matthews getting a very nice paycheck as well.

Considering the fact he's been so consistent for them while providing great defense.

He shot 43.9/39.5/82.9 in his 5 year career in portland while averaging 5.6 3pt attempts a game.
15.4 ppg, 3.3 rpg, 2.2 apg, 1.5 tov, 1.2 spg, 0.2bpg

114 ortg and 109 drtg (117 ortg and 106 drtg this year)

19.8 USG% (20.8% this year)

15.0 PER (17.1 this year)

Portland has their hands somewhat full:
LMA is up this year, and he's going to get the max 5yr/108mil deal

Robin Lopez is up this year, and more than likely he's going to be re-signed for somewhere around 8-10mil imo (Gortat 5yr/60mil, Asik is going to get ~10mil/yr, who knows what greg monroe will get)

Nicolas Batum is up next year, and he's likely going to get more than 11.5mil/yr (he's only 25 right now too)

Damian Lillard is up next year if he declines the qualifying offer, and he's likely going to get a max extension of 5yr/110-140mil (depending on the tv deal).

They'll have ~35mil in salary before even signing any of the 3 that are up this year (Matthews, LMA, and Lopez).

With Harden being paid 15.7mil, Derozan paid 9.5mil, and Lance paid 9.0mil this year. Afflalo is going to turn down the 7.2mil player option to get a bigger contract and Klay Thompson signing a 17.5mil/yr extension, they may not be able to afford all 3.

Wow, going to be a huge off season for Portland. It really pains me that Robin Lopez is going to get paid that much. There is a serious void in talent at that position. Portland is in a tough spot though, can't let him walk because there really isn't anything out their to replace him with. Letting Wesley Matthews walk will certainly hurt too. There are not a lot of shooting guards who are as consistently efficient as he is.
