Jordan Poole is our Rip Hamilton!

Joe Dumars assembled a Detroit Pistons team that went to SIX CONSECUTIVE Eastern Conference Finals by identifying what we now call "distressed assets."
He went out and signed Chauncey Billups as a free agent. Everyone thought Chauncy (a former 3rd overall pick) was a bust. Not Dumars. He traded for Rip Hamilton, who was languishing on Michael Jordan's Wizards. He drafted Tayshawn Prince. He traded the Pistons' star player Grant Hill for Ben Wallace.
People are saying how this trade helps us with TPE's, how it got us younger, and how it pushes our big expiring contract down the road a year for stategic purposes. Maybe Dumars and company just really wanted Jordan Poole and can see how he would thrive on a team that they plan on building.
I am optimistic.

*Grant Hill was a sign and trade. He salvaged Hill walking by getting an at the time nobody Ben Wallace.

Ok, Mr. Pedantic. It was a trade. My point stands.
