Back to back losses to the TWolves and Nets. So much for that 10 game win streak.

You do realize the Hornets are down 2 CRUCIAL starters?

On second thought...we can play better than this. Injuries or not.

Injuries happen. If you are a bonafide playoff team, you can't lose back to back games to two of the worst teams in the NBA because your 3rd and 4th best player are out.

Yes, I realize this, too. Its the fricking TWolves at home and the Nets. They are terrible teams. Really good teams find ways to win these games.

Yeah I guess it's just a coincidence that our best inside and best perimiter defenders are both out and we are getting killed inside and on the 3 point line.

Not really. The Cavs are terrible. If we lost to them, then I will question this team. The last two games, Minny and the Nets tonight were on fire and not missing anything. Not our fault.

I never said it was a coincidence. Having those guys out hurts the Hornets badly. Having injured starters hurt any team. But really good teams beat the TWolves and Nets and don't make excuses.

Has it occurred to you that maybe we're not a "really good team" without Oak and Ariza?

The Hornets are evidently a below average to bad team without Oak and Ariza. That isn't something to be happy about. It also doesn't excuse the play the last few games.

using your logic and we are below average/bad team...then why is it inexcusable to lose to other below average/bad teams?

The Mavs went on a bad losing streak when Dirk was out. Does that mean they should be worried? No, because when you are HEALTHY and your KEY PLAYERS are NOT INJURED you play well enough to be a good playoff team.

Whatever...losing to a great Raptors team at home isn't bad. That 5-23 record on the road should be nothing when missing a big piece of your roster!

I'm guessing this was the Mavs minus Dirk? If so, that is terrible. And Mavs fans shouldn't be blowing that game off just because he was injured. That is a bad loss with or without Dirk. Just like losing back to back games to Minnesota and NJ without Okafor and Ariza are bad losses for the Hornets.

The Hornets will make the playoffs. But games like this are going to hurt their position. And no one should be making excuses or happy about them. I'm sure Dallas fans know without Dirk they are a completely different team but that doesn't make it okay to lose to the Raptors. And I'm sure their fans are worried. It isn't just about making the playoffs (especially for Mavs fans). Losing games like this tell you about your team. Just like winning two games against San Antonio tell you about your team.
