Has this year’s Pelicans team had the worst regular season collapse in NBA history?

Seriously. I can’t ever recall a team in the NBA going from 1st place to well on the way to falling completely out of the playoffs.

It's close. 2 best players have just missed far too many games and the role players are all playing down to expectations. We're a terrible 3pt shooting team in a 3pt shooting league

It has to be up there for sure. They were #1 in the West about halfway through the season and are now in danger of not even making the play-in tournament. If you watch how they play offense right now it really makes you understand how big of an impact Zion has when he's playing. They cannot for the life of them generate open looks from any spot on the floor. Their go-to offense is to have the only 2 players worth a shite on offense take a contested midrange jumper. Willie Green and company just completely threw away the book on how to run a modern NBA offense. It's painful.
