Lets ride boys..

Why wouldn't Greg Monroe want to come home where he can play plenty of minutes??

Pels are interested. Would prefer Frye but they wouldn't turn down Monroe if they know they can have him. Gotta shed some money and a roster spot first

Here we go again...I've learn my lesson with Monroe like 2-3 seasons ago.

Is Frye still possible with the K Love injury?

Boston has more money to offer, more playoff exposure and the possibility of getting to the Finals.
Could easily Trump the Pels

yeah i would love Monroe, home town kid, but why wouldn't he go somewhere he can win today?
Pets would have a legitimate pitch- playing alongside AD, but i just don't see it happening.
He wouldn't be a starter on any playoff or potential playoff team in the West besides us, thats how I would sell this organization and opportunity to him.

Things might be starting to heat up. Hopefully we will be able to make a move soon

Brook Lopez apparently was upset enough with not playing late in the game that he went back to the lockerroom for a bit before coming back. He could ask for a buyout too.

Source: The New Orleans Pelicans will put a hard sell on Greg Monroe by pushing a starting opportunity and playing up the hometown connection. Key will be creating space on roster and under hard cap.

Celtics will definitely have interest in Greg Monroe, but key will be what's most important to him. Of logical suitors, Celts can offer most ($8.4 million DPE) and good chance at making Finals, but hearing he could be looking at greater opportunity for minutes in New Orleans.

Monroe is truly terrible. The Suns were 1-15 in the last 16 games he played. 9-7 without him.

He's a sieve defensively and a ball hog. Yaaaaay

80% of NBA players are useful in X situation but not in Y or Z. Only a handful are good regardless or bad regardless.
Like, Avery Bradley -- you think he just magically got worse this year or did his situation change for the worse?
Greg Monroe, as a 2nd unit scorer, with decent perimeter defenders next to him, can be a plus asset. Will that happen here? Who knows. But people need to understand that most guys aren't just universally good or bad. Its all dependent on the fit and what they are asked to do

So would he just be a starter in principle with AD chewing up minutes at the five with a guy like mirotic being the six man super sub? Because from what I've read we're asking him to start and give him starter minutes.

If Monroe is signed, I don't know if Mirotic is near the top of the list any more.
There are other deals being talked about seriously. Just as seriously as Mirotic was/is. There are deals that are close that involve perimeter oriented guys. Some that involve multiple players.
Dell is being hyper aggressive. Don't assume it's gonna be Mirotic.
