You're comparing a guy that may never be able to play again to a guy that started all 82 games last year.

He is worth a project in other words. Lopez obviously will not be a long term solution and hes a pretty bad patch job currently. All I'm saying is for a very cheap price especially considering our cap space we could potentially develop a high caliber player. You can't just say that his knees won't pan out thats unfair to say till he attempts his comeback. No matter what we will find an upgrade over Lopez so it's not a bad idea to have a project player on the side.

Yes, he can. He will take up a roster spot and cap space to sit there with 2 broken knees.

Like he can be any more of a waste of a roster spot than Xavier henry and lance thomas. Thomas is super uncoordinated...both of them look like they belong in the d- league if that. Henry forgot how to shoot ever since kansas.

He can be more of a waste than both. They can at least absorb minutes. He cannot.

When they play they bring the team down completely tempo changes and scoring decreases so just bc you are absorbing minutes doesn't mean it's helping the team. Sitting on the bench at least isn't hurting the team and you are completely already assuming that oden is already done which is once again a unfair analysis unless you have a crystal ball that tells the future.

You are completely assuming that his knees suddenly heal themselves miraculously. My assumption is a smaller leap of faith.

I'm not assuming that he is 100% back it's a risk that could pay huge dividends or it could just be a waste of a roster spot for a year at minimum salary. If you haven't noticed the Pelicans bench isn't exactly stacked with talent that is super competitive to get on the floor. My god we almost signed bowles last year.

Not to mention I think Pat Riley knows about 100x more about basketball and talent than you do and hes willing to take a risk with minimum cap space.

Did you even read the link you posted? Riley hasn't offered shite except a cordial response to a question:

We had a great two day visit, we will explore that and see where it goes.

Yeah, that really showed me.

I wouldn't be against it. I would be willing to do a 2 year deal with the 2nd being a team option after watching him workout and him passing a physical. I wouldn't do any one year deals though, just in case he does show some life that first season, I wouldn't want to be in a position of having to offer him a longer contract after just the 1 season.

Yeah I did jester did you read it? Obviously he sees potential in the guy if he is considering it and interviewing him. As in he believes that this guy can make a comeback unlike your ignorant baseless comments that you make based on the fact that you think you can read the future.

As long as our training staff and team doctors perform in accordance with the treatment of EG I have no problem with this.
