BigDub isn't a Charlotte fan, he's a designer who's been pushing his designs for the rebrand of the Hornets. He's been silent while all of this has been going on, but came out on HR today to clear the air and showed his rebrand idea for the Hornets that he wasn't allowed to share until they unveiled today.
He said once Benson and the Hornets turned him away, he began working on the redesign of the Charlotte Hornets in hopes of scoring a job with them.

Bigdub's designs are awesome... too bad he wasn't in the right place for the Pelicans redesign or it may be his work we would be looking at

I do think Benson should stipulate in any sale of the name that they must avoid Creole Blue by using their original hideous teal as a condition of the agreement.

I'm positive we can trade the rights to the Hornets for Ben Gordon and Kemba Walker. Benson is working on a deal right now.

It is the fans that make these teams possible, so I think it makes sense for the fans in a particular city to get "their" team name and logo back.
I was in DC when the Montreal Expos franchise moved to DC and became the Nationals. The people in DC were not Expos fans and they don't care about the records and former players of the Expos. If Montreal ever gets another team and they want to use the Expos names I think they should get those back...
