When it first started I tried to stop Sons because it seemed stupid to me. That stupid little catchphrase some how became a uniting identity for this board and it went from stupid to secret handshake known by the select few. Words have the meaning we give them, and that meaning can be fluid over time.

Maybe so. It just smaks of insecurity and lack of confidence to me. Like teenagers having to talk tough because they are not sure of themselves. In this case, it just seems like some are not 100% sure that this team reall IS as good as they are looking and so resort to the potty mouth gimmick.

It's not shocking to me. I think all (or at least many) of us went through that phase when we were growing up. It's just something that I left behind way back when I outgrew adolesence.

Again, like I said in the original post, this is just my opinion. People are free to express themselves as they see fit, I'm just making an observation on how it comes across to me.

I understand the OP’s point. Some of you can’t submit a post without using coarse language. We all get emotional and submit posts we may later regret. Sometimes we need to calm down and not post when unspooled.
