Well, I never really speak in absolutes like the question you asked does. So, to really flesh out the topic at hand, I'll see your query and raise you a query...are you more of a Fred Mercury kinda guy? Or, more currently, are you a Wayne Coyne kinda guy?

Just to follow up on your bs

Panic has never played "12 encores", much less played with Les Claypool.

Maybe you were at the wrong concert??

And if you are referring to Claypool coming out with Mule in NOLA, that was one of th greatest concerts of all time.

I hope this fox run turns into a tradition. The recordings sound crisp.

I know, man. I've been checking some of this run out, sounding really great. I hate that I was too busy to really sit down and couch tour them.

I've followed Schools on instagram recently and he was really pumped about playing at the Fox, so hopefully they get back there. I had fun at Phillips when I went, but I much prefer a smaller venue. Panic needs to get back in the Saenger asap.

I'm more of a Sam Bush or Ryan Adams "kinda guy".

Ok, dude, seems like your fishing, so ill bite the hook...

Ryan Adams was pretty boring at Jazz Fest. All I got for him.

Is Gregg really a "front man"? Anyways, most Panic fans are Allman fans, so I'm not sure what your disconnect is here. Railroad Earth is awesome, not sure how someone that likes them would consider JB boring, though. Todd Sheaffer plays his instrument and sings songs.... just like Bell.

Anyway, I'm hungover. Can't really do much more here. I like JB, but I don't need my "front man" running around like his a-hole is on fire. Just me.

Sam Bush is the man as well. Love him, he was great with Anders recently at Tips.

Guys, please stop responding to the people miserable enough to join this thread and bash on panic. Don't take the bait. It's clogging up what could be good conversation and making the music board suck more than it already does.

Can "JB" bend his knees a little and show some emotion ... I don't know ... maybe even take a step or two? I'm not saying he's got to be David Lee Roth or Mick Jagger out there, but damn he's boring.

JB commands his stage, guy. I know for fact he walks around to all other members and listens to them so he can direct his playing accordingly. Really kind of a dumb direction you took this thread with the boring comment.

Christ, i swear there is no pleasing people. Bend his legs??? What in the actual hell?! Ha.

Holy shite. People here still listen to widespread panic? Houser is dead. Herring is far too talented to surround himself with those sorry shmucks. Their music has turned sour and they're a borderline cover band at this point. Surprised even the SEC rednecks eat that shite up.

How do you know all that about Panic without listening to them?

Maybe, maybe not. Maybe it was Mule. But Les Clapool was there.

Is there much of a difference between Mule and Panic?

Is there a difference in Pearl Jam and Alice in Chains?

Anyway, I've been forthcoming in this thread, but now it's turning into a school - girl pissfest. And I'm not the least bit surprised.

I gave you a second good response on page 3. Offer stands if you ever want to check out a show with me.

Yes. BUT seriously, which members of Mule cross over into WSP? I know the bands are different...I jest a little, but tell me would it be impossible for Mule to invite certain people on stage and it become a WSP concert? Is there a rule that stops this?

NO hard feelings. Your UGA brethren is the one who I was referring to. Fair enough. I'll check it out. I won't post anymore here -- not inflammatory stuff.

Panic plays with Haynes all the time. Many many times.

I was at the final concert of the Allmans/Panic co-tour in 09 that celebrated 40 years (or so) of Allmans as a band. To close the tour at the Woodlands, both bands got on stage together to close that bitch out in style. It was great. Really great, man. Lots of stellar guitar play with Herring, JB, Derek Trucks (best alive imo) and Haynes shreddddding. Really awesome to see.

So, that's why I'm inclined to believe Panic is still a good band as well.... if they're good enough for Allmans and Mule, they're good enough for me. Simple as that.

So back to the holiday weekend....

I really thought they crushed Bowie's Heroes.

The horns weren't overbearing at all, and JB owned it.

Heroes

Panic's Heroes is one of my favorite songs by any band, and it was perfect placement before the huge cover
