Things are all over the place advertising right now. Reviews are great and it is very reasonable.

I ordered one back in February. I still have not gotten it. Got a email last week that said it was not at "Local Distribution" and should be coming soon. Lots of people waiting over 9 months to get one. Was suspicious for a while.

A good friend of mine who has been playing for 35 years ordered one as well and got it last week. Said he was seriously impressed with it. Said it would also be a great learning tool for me

Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone ordered or had one.

I hadn't heard of it. I'll have to check it out.

If I get a new amp (which I am going back and forth on) it would probably be the Fender Tonemaster Deluxe. Its got adjustable wattage and DI out.

A friend of mine ordered one in February and just got it on Monday. He likes it. Said the tones are pretty damn good and the play along feature where it shows the chords in real time works really well. He said the backing band feature kinda sucks. He's a beginner to intermediate player and overall really likes it so far.

For $224, if you don’t like it, you can have a great Bluetooth speaker. Haha.

I actually just learned about it 5 minutes ago when I saw the ad. I plan on ordering one.

Do any of you play gigs? If so, are you planning on gigging with it or just for home use?

Been eyeballing this thing as well but I only see guys with big youtube channels who were obviously given one for marketing purposes reviewing them.

If you ordered one in February and have it I think you're ahead of the game. I looked in April and ALL the comments on the ads were about people waiting since 2019.

I might throw $225 out and wait and see. I just hate to reward PG for their crappy business of pushing this thing knowing they can't deliver.

Looks like it would be pretty sweet for gigs to switch quickly and play tons of different sounds tho.

Keep us posted on what you think of it.

I have not received mine yet. It says it is at "Local Distribution". What ever that means. It did change last week to that so I guess that is progress.

My friend got his and loves it. He ordered a few weeks before me. And I am not sure I can give you a great evaluation, I am such a beginner, it will be over my head for a while

Im still waiting on mine. Three weeks ago since I got the email that said "At Local distribution". I think that may mean that its still in China.

Got this email today. They are taking some heat for the slow shipping

quote:

Hi Ryan

Calvin, CEO of Positive Grid here. I am overwhelmed and truly appreciate your support for Spark. It is clear that we have not been communicating effectively about delays and obstacles that have prevented us from shipping your Spark. I sincerely apologize for keeping you waiting for so long.

There are things we will—and must—do better. From here on out, I promise to do everything within our power to keep you 100% informed. Here is an update I want to share with you directly.
What happened?
In November and December of 2019, the early response for Spark far exceeded our expectations. We had to significantly increase our production capability, operation and logistics, and solve resource challenges.

In January and February of this year, the COVID-19 outbreak hit which closed our factory and many vendors in our supply chain, dramatically affecting our production capability. Once the production issue was resolved, the pandemic had spread worldwide, affecting our logistics and shipping.

As a small team, it has been very challenging to navigate the large scale uncertainties of producing and shipping in the world today. But we should, and we will get better. This I personally pledge to you.
What's happening now?
We have ramped up production and shipping extensively. Most pre-orders (90%) will be shipped by the end of July. The remaining orders will ship by mid-August.

We are revamping our order tracking system and customer service team to make it easier for you to track your order, and to be more responsive to you when you have questions so that we can reply in a timely manner.

Some customers received tracking numbers many weeks prior to their amp's delivery. Tracking numbers were automatically generated the moment our warehouse received a shipping order. We are working to improve the process to ensure tracking numbers are not created until they are in fact scanned and in the shipping process.

Yes, we are shipping Sparks in the order they were received, and based on their location in the world. We did make an operational mistake and shipped a few hundred units out of order. We’ve fixed that and it won’t happen again.
Looking forward
We are doubling the warranty on Spark to Two Years as a thank you for your support.

We will post communications every week until everyone has received their Spark.

Spark is created with the vision of a smarter way to play and jam. We have many new developments in the pipeline, and we’re committed to adding new features, sounds, software and firmware updates on a regular basis.
This has been an incredible learning experience for me and for our company. As a group of forward-thinking musicians who are passionate about creating new experiences for guitar players, we hate to disappoint you. We are working hard every day to make our customer experience equal to the quality of our Spark amps.

Thank you, once again, for your continued patience and support.

Sincerely,

Calvin Abel

Well, I wanted to update the ones who are interested about this purchase. After waiting over 5 months, my Spark Amp from Positive Grid arrived last week while I was on vacation. Needless to say, if it were something I was absolutely needing, I would not have waited. But it was fairly cheap ($225 shipped) and I am a newbie so I had some more time to practice before it got here. LOL

It has a app that I downloaded and have been learning to use, slightly. I still have no idea since I am new what all the controls do but I can make sound with it and had some serious fun today. I was able to bring up a you tube video through the app, have it list all the chords and strumming patters and play along somewhat. That is probably going to be what I will do with it for a while.

I am using it with a Acoustic so I am not sure what controls I actually need. I have started taking my lessons again since my work load has slowed so I may just take it with me next time and let the guy show me. Its very light and is only 14"x8"x8". Small but sounds good to me. It can also be used as a standard Bluetooth speaker

Here are some pictures, it was nicely packaged and the app was free and easy to load and set up.

I see these constantly on Facebook. All the reviews are about slow shipping. This was before covid. I’m mildly interested and I’ll check back to see if it was worthy the wait.

I had a Line 6 amplifi that was a very similar product. But it stopped working after a year and it had all kinds of bugs where things wouldn’t connect and finally I threw the thing away. There was no support for the product. It’s like they just walked away. Hope this one is better. :
