Artists have to change though, I mean the top 3 in my list changed a lot from their from their first commercial releases of the decade. Kendrick went from heavy west coast influence to jazz rap to trap inspired rap and succeeded at all of it.
Kanye went from the peak of the transition bling era/trap rap in MBDTF to a progressive industrial/trap album in Yeezus (that Travis Scott had a huge hand in btw I forgot to mention in my original post) to creating TLOP which defined the music streaming generation. Then he started the short album trend with Ye, Kids See Ghosts and Daytona.
Travis Scott went from the modern trap sound (before anyone else had really perfected it other than Future) in Rodeo, to a new psychedelic trap sound in Astroworld that is currently popular.
I just feel like change is key (not a problem), it is what makes an artist good, not bad as long as they execute the sound. So, I totally agree with your post
just expanding on it with my opinion.
