re: Whatcha Listening To?

Double Fantasy came out about 1 1/2 years before my son was born. I used to play/sing this (and a lot of songs) to him all the time when he was a child. At the end when John sings, "darlin', darlin', darlin', Sean" I used my son's name. It's a beautiful lullaby.

One day in the car when he was about 2 1/2 or 3 I was playing the song and he sang, "darlin', darlin' darlin', Daddy." It touched me then and still does when I think of it. He's 31 now. Music elicits so many memories.

I can´t remember what I sang to my boy, but I sang Blur´s Tender to my girl.

She still loves that song, to this day.

It's amazing what kids remember. My son is a big Zevon fan as well as Grateful Dead, Moody Blues, Beatles, Stones, etc. He sends me music that he thinks I should listen to and still asks to copy some of my old CDs.
