Rage would be awesome right now in the political landscape we have going on. What is his deal? They reunited and toured for 3-4 years but he can't muster up and write lyrics? So they go get b-real and chuck-d, and even use RAGE in the band name? They are also going to play RATM songs without Zach

It's weird bc one day as a lion was decent. I saw rage in nola in 1999, I would kill for a album of new material. It's such a conundrum.

His verse kind of kicked arse on Run the Jewels "Close Your Eyes (And Count to frick)."

he's recorded 2 full albums and scrapped both of them. If it wasn't for that I would agree with you.

I'm not sure what his motive is.

One was solo with tons of A+ producers liek Reznor and DJ shadow.

The other was with One Day as a Lion, with the drummer from Mars Volta, queens of the stone age.

Don't care. His politics are annoying as hell, as are most musicians.

It's so hard to
quote:

RATM
when the politicians in charge of the machine are the ones you voted for.

Wait until Trump gets elected and watch how fast Zach gets inspired.

That's a rather short-sighted comment. Like I said, I'm generally annoyed when musicians try to be too political and use their status to influence people. I want to hear a musician play music, and don't care about his stance on the treatment of pandas in China.

Zack de la Rocha, a "revolutionary" who has a record deal with Sony. Down with big corporations!

Entertainers are people too, and political commentary is an important part of the artistic spectrum. You're just upset most have a different opinion than you. I bet if they were mostly conservative you'd have no problem with it.

Even some politicizing is fine. I love The Trees by Rush.

Zach was an extremist though. Still liked some of their music. If I cut all music and art out because I had a political disagreement with the artist, I'd live a boring life.

That assumes I'm conservative, which I'm not.

I'm not really conservative, but Zach's constant political talk is annoying.

And yeah, that's fine. I'm more referring to his rants, not the lyrics to his songs. At the same time, if every single song has some underlying political tones, much like anything else repetitive, it gets annoying.

I'm fine with Rage because they come out against both Democrats and Republicans even though they're obviously leftist in views. Only thing that irks me about Bruce Springsteen is how obviously his political overtones are in favor of Democrats and the fervor by which he pulverizes the populace with that.
