Money - Pink Floyd, followed by Shake Your Rump by the Beastie Boys.

Those two songs tell me everything I need to know.

I’m not an expert on the topic in terms of all the technical aspects of what makes some songs better than others for this but I have a great one for you to check out. Back in the early and mid-90’s before marriage and children I had an ‘87 Bronco II with a kick-arse stereo system in it. This is the one song that to me sounded the very best in it, cranked at high volume of course. The whole song sounded fantastic but damn, from 3:24 til the end really hammered home how incredible it sounded in that vehicle.

Um yeah. Wrong on this one. And besides, your suggestion was One. Laughable. Great fricking song off a great album, song-wise. But And Justice For All is one of the absolute worst production jobs on any metal album ever by a big act with plenty of resources. James and Lars fricked Jason over like a couple of true dickheads with that garbage.

Yeah I had it on the Johnny Mnemonic soundtrack. Bought it for Helmet and Rollins Band and loved this song from first listen.

ETA: Crank it on your new system and let us know how it sounds.

Below is the playlist I made a couple years ago when auditioning headphones. Good for speakers, too. I included some tracks that have been known to make my ears bleed due to shrill-sounding female vocals or saxophone. For my home system, this was tamed by running MCACC on my Pioneer Elite AVR. For headphones, I moved to another set. Besides highlighting her spectacular voice, the Sara Bareilles track has some piano chords near the end that completely fell apart into disorted mush on some headphones I tried.

How old are you man? For your information I’ve seen Metallica in four straight decades now, most recently in Mile High Stadium in 2017. Saw ‘em in New Orleans with Cliff on bass. My all-time favorite Metallica show was August of ‘89 on that very Justice tour in Biloxi. None of that means I can’t recognize dogshit production when I hear it, or that I won’t realize how incredibly shitty James and Lars were to Jason, all in the name of “hazing” him. That poor guy had his dream come true when they invited him to join, only to see it turn to shite when they never even accepted him. And while nobody could fill Cliff’s shoes, he was a pretty damn good choice to join IMO and seemed to fit in very well with regard to stage presence. Now they have Mr. Basketball jersey crouched way down low taking his big slow steps around the stage. So Metallica-like.

And again, Justice has fantastic songs, but one of the all-time shittiest production jobs in metal. And you submitted a song from it as your answer to the OP.

Debbie Gibson? Indeed. Maybe you should be listening to her.
