Tool barely even has riffs to begin with. Instead, they have masturbatory, off-time-signature plodding thuds that go nowhere. Their signature single (Sober) literally doesn't have a riff.

Hetfield's riffs are on par with Sabbath. Megadeth riffs are incredible too.
