I haven't been to the Tipitina's Summer Free Fridays shows consistently since its heyday a few years ago when they had artist like Trombone Shorty, Andres Osborne, Papa Grows Funk, Big Sam, etc. However I want to go Friday to check out Eddie Roberts from the New Mastersounds.

Two questions:

1) How is the crowd, is it really young and does it get really crowded?

2) Has anyone heard Roberts play with this group, I'm familiar with Nigel Hall from Lettuce and his side projects here in NO so I assume it should be tight show?

Thanks

I'll be there.

eTree has a show from last year at the Maple Leaf with Roberts and Hall. Exactly the kind of tight jazz-funk you'd expect from that duo.

Wish I could make that, but I'll be in Orange Beach seeing some nostalgia act from Vermont

Thanks.

They come on second right, probably around 11:30?
