Well, damn did these dudes write any of their own songs?

A few here and there. But they were the best interpreters and reimaginers of other artists songs, maybe ever.

How many singers could hold a candle to Sam Cooke? Yet Three Dog Night did.

I liked Cory and Chuck, but couldn't stand Danny.

Btw, on a side note, his (Danny's) girlfriend June Fairchild was the person that named the band "Three Dog Night".

Look her bio up. Very interesting life and also very tragic.

She started out as a dancer on 'Hollywood A Go Go' and previously dated Gene Torrance, Roman Polanski, Gene Clark, Brian Wilson, Peter Tork...several others.

She ended up being a straight up junkie and living on the streets out of a refrigerator box in L.A.

Wow. Me too. I saw them twice in the 80's when Chuck had been fired and Cory carried the show. An amazing singer.

I knew what a three Dog night meant, but not the one who brought it to them. Thanks for the info. I'll look it up.

Three Dog Night had 21 Top 40 hits and they wrote none of them ...
Three Dog Night is widely considered one of the greatest and most successful "cover bands" in rock history,, dominating the charts between 1969 and 1975 with 21 consecutive Top 40 hits, all of which were written by other artists
