The Sound of Animals Fighting was the best thing to happen to Rx Bandits

Mandala has very clear connections to Matt's work in The Sound of Animals Fighting. The guitar work is so much more intricate and erratic. They used to be a band that bored the hell out of me (not a ska fan), but I have new found respect for them.
Also, TSOAF finally got me past Anthony Green's voice enough to enjoy Circa Survive, as well.
I highly recommend anyone that enjoys Circa Survive or Rx Bandits to check out the collaboration. It's good shite.

I stand by it. TSOAF gave them all the ability to get outside of the tiny box that is ska and experiment freely without expectation. The fact that Rich, a trombone player, started that transition is interesting to me.
