Who here's been to the Republic for a concert? Interested in going see a band there in June and wanted to know if the VIP tickets were worth it.

Not the best venue. VIP will get you up in the balcony if that's what you want. Floor area is kinda small with some big posts in the way.

VIP gets you a little table and "section" on the balcony with a bottle or two. If you have the money then go for it, but it definitely isn't some super exclusive deal.
The Republic gets a bad rep because the majority of their shows are EDM garbage that attract a shite crowd, but when there's a good act their it is actually a cool little venue.
