Gus Cannon's Jug Stompers - "Walk Right In" (1929)
The Rooftop Singers - "Walk Right In" (1962) -- This version would go to #1 on the pop chart at the height of the folk revival in 1963 (it even went to #4 on the R&B chart!!!). The vocals may be a bit whitebread but the two 12 string guitars give it an interesting sound.

I've actually considered a "This Day In Music History" thread for the board (that is, if I can find another site that has already done the research, so all I have to do is cut and paste). But since my attempts to do a similar general history thread on the OT were all anchored, that project has been abandoned.
