There was a Nitrous circus going on the the parking lot across from the Civic after moe. My buddies were coming to pick us up in the cab, saw that going on and ditched the cab to go grab a handful

It took us like 30 minutes to find a cab after that. Priorities

Is there usually nitrous on Frenchman every night, or what that a product of the festival?

I'm debating on heading down Thursday for the Royal Family Ball. Friday doing the Papa Mali and Anders acoustic set at Nola Brewery. Saturday I'm thinking about hitting frenchmen street. Probably the Benevento show at Blue Nile followed by Wimbash. Sunday hitting the fest for Arcade Fire and Fogerty.

A couple of years ago it was pretty standard. They have cracked down on it a bit, but I still see it for big shows and events like Jazz Fest, Halloween, NYE, etc..

That street is awesome. I would spend a lot of time there if I lived there.

Someone ran one down right in front of our apartment on Sunday night. Hit it going about 50 and never slowed down.

Absolutely. The best in the city for music no doubt. Just need to keep you tourists away from it.

I'm a big fan of Frenchman St. You can always catch a good show there. One of the best, random shows I saw there was this local HS jazz/funk bank. There was like 7 of them and they were gettin down

We saw June Yamagushi Saturday night at DBA. Was going to go to Maison on Sunday but after dinner I crashed and didnt make it out. Worked out well because my 8AM flight yesterday was the most turbulent I have ever been on. Would have puked everywhere if I was hungover.

Yeah the best is heading to Frenchman in the early afternoon and just farting around. You can stumble upon some fantastic music.

My plan for Saturday. I love walking into BMC to start and you will always here something new and usually good.

My buddy was staying at that hotel right across from the Blue Nile on NYE with a tank up in the room. It was so convenient

There was a funk all star group consisting of George Porter Jr, June Yamagishi, Marco Benevento, and others that played this past Halloween. It was some of the best jamming I've seen and I can't find a recording of it anywhere.

eta: it was this show.

He is a beast. Is he in any bands now? I know he plays a little with the Wild Magnolias. I know he does the trio every now and then at the maple leaf. Didn't know he was doing shows on his own.. What support did he have at DBA?
