The Rock Hall is a fricking joke. The idea of any music hall of fame is inherently flawed.

I agree but it's spread like wildfire and now there's multiple music hall of fames for particular genres and songwriters. As a music lover, I find it a helpful medium to listen to and learn of influential artists that shaped rock but so many other great acts remain excluded that their work becomes either obscure or cultish. The induction ceremony is probably the most un-rock and roll idea ever cultivated imo.

Wrong..... It all depends on who is voting for it. You and I would say YES to a certain person or group. But IMO does it really matter????? We all have our OWN HOF........ Right?????

I just like how he's presenting his current position on this "issue" like its tantamount to a national concern. I'm not a big fan of the "idea" of a rock and roll "institution" like this and anyone who is should be institutionalized. To its credit, it provides education to millenials about who the trailblazers were in the 50s, 60s and 70s to an extent.

But Steve Miller wasn't one of them. A great guitar player but his songs weren't THAT special.......

Steve Miller was a dark horse of 60s music, begat Boz Scaggs' career, Les Paul was his godfather and performed with Chuck Berry. Performed at Monterey for Christ's sake. I feel his best stuff dated to the 60s before he hit the mainstream with The Joker, if I've heard those songs once I've heard them a thousand times.

One thing, in the context of hall of fames, that irks me about the induction ceremony is a lot of time these artists don't even get to choose who inducts them it's generally people chosen by the Hall. Another discrediting fact.

At least one third of the so-called artists in the Hall of Shame don't belong and I know of at least 30 bands that deserve to be in!!
