When I think of Billy Squire

I remember how Ratt blew him off the stage. Ratt was his opening act while supporting their Out Of The Cellar Album.

He had bad luck with that. In the early 80s, he had a little opening act out of Sheffield, England, called Def Leppard - and this was the High 'n Dry/Pyromania flavor of Def Leppard - just scorching. Squier said, "I'm not following those guys for 3 months" - which was win-win for everyone as Pyromania hit the charts and they needed to headline their own tour to support that.

After seeing Def Leppard live in New Orleans this past Saturday Night, whom ever agreed to have them as the opening act for Billy Squire was damn fool especially at that time in their carrers. High N Dry and Pyromania were probably Def Leppards best albums and they were at their prime at that time. I remember I was in Seattle during summer of 83 and Leppard was headlining the Pyro tour with Bryan Adams as there opening act.

I caught the Billy Squire/Ratt tour in New Orleans back in 1984. Ratt was phenomenal that night with Robin Crosby and Warren DeMartini live trading lead guitar.
